December is here and I for one cannot believe that Christmas is already upon us. While Key West may never have a white Christmas, they sure do celebrate the holiday season. What else would you expect from a party town?!
Running all month long is the “Bight Before Christmas” Holiday Celebration. During this celebration, you can walk the Harbor Walk nightly and view the beautiful Christmas light displays. Other notable events that make up this celebration include the Holiday Parade on December 8th, the Lighted Boat Parade on December 15th, and Violins in Motion Holiday Concert on December 22nd and 23rd. All of these events are free to the public! You can find out more information about these events by visiting our calendar of events page.
Another wonderful event is the Holiday Historic Inn Tour. While you can drive by these inns in the evening and enjoy their holiday decorations, the tour also includes art exhibits, dine foods, and refreshments. This is the 10th year that this particular tour has been offered, with much success. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online or at any of the inns on the tour, and the tours are offered on December 7th and 14th from 6 – 9 pm. The schedule is as follows:
December 7th- The Mermaid & the Alligator, Simonton Court, Villas Key West, Wicker Guesthouse, Key West Art Center
December 14th- Avalon B&B, Rose Lane Villas, Tropical Inn, Westwinds Inn, Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory
