Getting to Key West
The Key West International Airport (EYW) is just one way to get to our little island. There are several ways to travel to Key West. If you are coming from Fort Myers you can take the Key West Express Ferry. If you have your own boat you can come down via water also. You can drive to the island as Key West is connected to the mainland by a series of bridges. Or, you can fly, which is my favorite method of travel on and off of the island.
Airlines Servicing Key West
The Key West International Airport (EYW) serves travelers from around the globe. The airport is located on the northeast side of the island in New Town at 3491 S. Roosevelt Blvd, Key West. Airlines that offer regular flights out of Key West include American Airlines, Delta, and US Airways among others. So, there are lots of options. However, these lines change with time, so it is always a good idea to check the airport website.
Other Airport Services
Inside the airport you will find a number of rental car companies including Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, and Thrifty. Or, you can take one of the many taxis that are lined up outside of the arrivals area because you don’t really need a car while visiting Key West, especially if you are staying in Old Town, on or near Duval Street.
If you find yourself waiting for your flight longer than expected there is also the Conch Flyer Restaurant and Bar, a snack bar, and a couple of gift shops as well where you can bide your time, possibly picking up that last minute gift for someone special back home or a last moment for yourself.
Excursions departing from the Key West Airport
If you don’t plan on flying into or out of Key West, you may still be stopping by here during your Key West vacation if you plan on taking a seaplane trip to the Dry Tortugas, as these excursions depart from the private sector of the airport.
