My best friend, Pam, is moving away. So, for our last hurrah, my husband and I met up with her on Sunday morning for breakfast at Ram’s Head Southernmost in the Bahama Village section of Old Town Key West. Normally, we would sit outside. But, it was pouring rain, so we asked to be seated inside. The interior is brightly decorated with a tropical theme. The first thing Pam commented on when she walked in was how cute she thought the decor was.
To start, we order waters and coffees all around. The coffee was apparently freshly made, but it was truly awful. When we added creamer the color did not change at all. That immediately put my husband off, but he decided to get a mimosa instead which was good. I thought about having a Bloody Mary, as they have a great bar, but Pam is not a drinker, so I will save that for another time.
The Food
For breakfast, I ordered the chorizo and egg tacos. There were three soft flour tacos filled with chorizo sausage, scrambled eggs and cheddar jack cheese, served with home fries. This was all very tasty. And, it was a lot of food; I could only eat two of the tacos. I would definitely get this again.
My husband ordered a pancake with hot syrup and a croissant sandwich which had scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon and American cheese piled onto a fresh, buttery croissant, served with home fries. Pam also got the sandwich, minus the bacon. And, she subbed out the home fries for tater tots. Both Steven and Pam loved the sandwiches, which were a good size as well. The pancake was not as enjoyed. The waitress, who was very attentive, did get the syrup warmed for him which was much appreciated.
With the less than stellar coffee, we would probably not come here again for breakfast, but we would come here for lunch or dinner. The seafood heavy menu has some really tasty sounding options, such as crab dip, scallop risotto, and crabby tots to name just a few items that caught my eye.
