Key West Art Galleries

Did you know that there are more than 30 art galleries on our tiny island of Key West?! Our island has as tradition of amazing artists that spans back to its founding. An additional feature that makes our little island an amazing place to visit

Here is a comprehensive list of those galleries along with a brief description of the types of art that they carry and where they are located on our little island. This will be helpful for those of you that were visiting, found that piece of art that you fell in love with but didn’t buy, then went home and realized that you cannot live without it! You would not believe how often that happens!

The Galleries

7 Artists & Friends Gallery – 213 Simonton St.; 305-294-8444. This gallery began as a co-op between seven of Key West’s top artists.

90 Miles to Cuba – 616 Greene St.; 305-292-1333. An old-style curiosity shop with items tied to or inspired by Cuban culture.

Alan S. Maltz Gallery – 1210 Duval St.; 305-294-0005. The official photographer of the State of Florida offers his vision of the state’s natural beauty.

Archeo Gallery – 1208 Duval St.; 305-294-3771. You will find ancient art. 10 a.m-6 p.m. daily.

Art @ 830 Gallery – 830 Caroline St.; 305-295-9595. A whimsical gallery with pieces made from wood and glass, plus paintings by Florida Keys artists. Open daily at 10 a.m.

Art on Duval – 602 Duval St.; 305-741-7001. Owned by local artist and photographer Michael Procaccini.

Artists Gallery at the Red Door – 812 Caroline St.; 305-296-6628. Find art, crafts and souvenirs.

Audubon House Gallery – 205 Whitehead Sat.; 305-294-2116. Open Daily from 9:30am to 5pm.

Backyards of Key West – 291 Front St., 305-680-0513. Locally made art. Open 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Cocco & Salem Gallery – 1111 Duval St. 305-292-0072. Features paintings by some of Key West’s top artists. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.

Collections Key West – 6810 Front St., Stock Island; 305-923-4778. Paintings, kinetic sculpture and antiques. Open weekends noon-5 p.m. and by appointment.

De La Gallery – 419 Duval St.; 305-395-2210. Showcases the photography of Jorge de la Torriente and the framing of Jeffrey Rodriguez.

Effusion Gallery – 701 Duval St.; 305-735-4345. Offers a cool, tropical vibe.

Gallery on Greene – 606 Greene St.; 305-304-2323. Pieces by Peter Vey, Mario Sanchez, Suzie de Poo, Jeff MacNelly and artists from Cuba.

Gingerbread Square Gallery – 1207 Duval St.; 305-296-8900. Key West’s oldest private art gallery, founded in 1974.

Guild Hall Gallery – 614 Duval St.; 305-296-6076. Established in 1976 as a co-op. Open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.

Harrison Gallery – 825 White St.; 305-294-0609. Known for its proprietors, Helen and Ben Harrison, as well as for the exhibits.

Island Style Gallery – 512 Duval St.; 305-292-7800. Features unique art and craft. Open daily.

JAG Gallery – 1075 Duval St., Space C23; 305-294-0609.

Key West Art Center & Gallery – 301 Front St.; 305-294-1241. A place for local artists to display their work, work on art-related projects and teach and take classes.

Key West Collective – 720 Caroline St.; 305-395-1161. Owned by Rachel E. Ligon, this gallery is filled with works by artists inspired by Key West. Open daily 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Key West Gallery – 601 Duval St.; 305-923-1696. A selection of fine arranging in styles and genres.

Key West Pottery – 1203 Duval St.; 305-900-8303. Owned by Kelly Lever and Adam Russell, is a pottery studio/gallery. (I have several pieces from here. One of my favorites!)

Maggie Ruley — Island Inspirations – 933B Fleming St. This is the artist’s studio, but she welcomes visitors.

Ocean Blue – 109 Duval St.; 305-296-7474. Art from around the world.

Peter Lik – 400 Duval St.; 305-292-2550. Transport to another place gazing at Lik’s photography.

Sacred Space – 529 Southard St. This studio and boutique carries products made by women artists.

SALT Gallery – 830 Fleming St.; 305-817-6055. Focuses on local artisans.

SeaSister Island Gallery – 303 Duval St.; 954-232-7248. Specializes in contemporary art.

Shade Ceramics & Shutter Photography – 1102 White St.; 305-767-3769. Ceramics by Mark Klammer and nature photography by Sarah Carleton.

Stone Soup Gallery & Frame Shop – 802 White St.; 305-296-2080. Offers framing and fine art printing.

Studios of Key West – 533 Eaton St.; 305-296-0458. Owned by famed author, Judy Blume, this book store and gallery offers so much!

Wyland Gallery – 623 Duval St.; 305-292-4998. Gallery of famed ocean artist Wyland, also featuring art from his artist friends.

Zazoo Fine Art Gallery – 622 Duval St.; 305-294-8925. Owned by Felix the Cat artist Don Oriolo. You will find collectibles and amazing art curated by Jason Cornely that has worked for Walt Disney Company. Open 11am – 6pm Sunday, 10am – 6pm Monday – Wednesday, 10am – 8pm Thursday, 10am – 9pm Friday, and 10am – 10pm Saturday.
