Key West Goombay Festival

This Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, 2012, Key West celebrates once again with the 32nd annual Goombay festival. This event celebrates the island’s rich Caribbean history with an exciting street fair. Showcases include arts and crafts, music, and most importantly, food. Goombay always signifies the start of the annual Fantasy Fest celebrations, but this is definitely the milder side to those events.

Due to it being Goombay weekend, Petronia Street will be closed Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th from noon to midnight from Duval to Front Streets.  The recreational fields of Truman Waterfront are also being utilized for parking and events.

In addition to the Goombay Street Fair, the Fantasy Fest Coronation Ball will be held at the Southernmost Beach Cafe on Friday and the end of Duval Street (Ocean end), so traffic will be congested with picking up and dropping off revelers.

So come on downtown and enjoy the party!!
