Kiki’s Sandbar: Review

Located on the Gulfside of Little Torch Key, you will find this relaxing waterfront bar and restaurant just off of US Highway 1. Knowing that Kiki’s Sandbar is pet friendly, we stopped by to grab a bite for lunch after picking up our pup, Indiana Bones, from the vet. We decided to sit under the tiki hut for some shade rather than on their beach overlooking the water, although we did take Indie out to the Dog Beach area to stretch his legs for a bit which we all enjoyed.

Since Hurricane Irma did work to this area back in 2017, there is still some recovery going on here. The upstairs of Kiki’s has been closed since, and with that their kitchen. So they have brought in a food truck and opened up more seating outside, most of which have gorgeous water views. Ingenious, and the perfect location too for such a setup.

My husband ordered the smash burger with bacon and I ordered the Sandbar salad with blackened chicken and a side of fries. While we waited for our food we enjoyed our drinks and the water views as well as the beach mentioned above. And Indie also got fawned over by the staff. It was nice to see a place that truly is pet friendly.

The salad presentation was nice and the chicken tasted amazing. Greens were fresh and I was very happy with my choice. Steven said his burger was good. The fries has some kind of coating on them that I was not a huge fan of, but they were still tasty.

Apparently, they have a good selection of beers here as well. We did not have an alcoholic drink; we stuck with water since it was just a break in our work day. But several guys sitting at the bar asked to sample some of the different beers before they decided on which to commit to.

Nothing fancy here, folks, but the atmosphere and island music was so relaxing, we felt like we were on vacation. Kiki’s is a great place to stop and enjoy a drink or a meal if you are in the Lower Keys and the weather is fine.
