Smoothie Shuttle - Review

Smoothie Shuttle has a large menu, but they specialize in serving fresh smoothies made from high-quality ingredients.

Smoothie Shuttle is located in the Key Plaza Shopping Center on Roosevelt Blvd, where you will find plenty of parking.

While there is plenty of seating and air conditioning inside, most people seem to go for the take out option here as they only offer counter service and not a full service restaurant.

Smoothie Shuttle - Review

I went to Smoothie Shuttle a couple of times in June. First, I went with two of my girlfriends for lunch. And about a week later I took my husband there for lunch. I tried different things each time to get a full idea of the food quality.

Normally, when there is such a large menu as they have here, I get nervous because you cannot possibly do everything well. But just about everything that I have tried here so far was fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back for a quick breakfast or lunch.

While the inside is very trendy looking, the seats are not very comfortable, but the tables aren’t all jammed together which I enjoyed. Food is ordered at the counter and when the order is up they call your name to pick it up. No table service. The staff that takes the orders did not give off a super friendly vibe, but they weren’t rude or anything. For counter service, it was pretty standard.

Smoothies – well, it is called the Smoothie Shuttle, so as you can imagine the smoothie list is long. They have regular smoothies, premium smoothies, or you can build your own smoothie. Honestly, the choices here are endless. I most recently tried The Sunburn which was made from blackberries, strawberries, bananas and orange juiced. It was so delicious that it could not possibly be good for me, or could it? I am not sure on that front.

Boba Tea – This drink typically combines a base of brewed tea with milk or fruit flavors, and is finished with sweet, chewy toppings, the most popular of which is tapioca pearls. I had never had one of these before, so I was not sure what to expect. Smoothie Shuttle has over a dozen flavor choices, and I love coffee, so I went with the coffee milk tea. Honestly, I am not sure what was in it, but it was sweet and delicious. I do not think that I would order one of these again though because I did not like sucking up the tapioca balls. For me, they presented a choking hazard. But my friends both ordered a different flavor boba tea and loved them. They liked the chewy addition to their drink.

Fresh Juice – I adore fresh orange juice, and I ordered one of these. Not much to say about it other than it was wonderful having fresh squeezed Florida gold! I also ordered The Sunshine which has orange, carrot, lemon, ginger, and apple in it. The lemon and ginger overpowered the other flavors, but it is a real wake up and probably very good for fighting illness.

Coffee – They don’t have a huge menu here, but the Latte that I had was very good. They also have espresso, Matcha, American and Vietnamese coffees.

Food

Acai Bowls – They have three different options, but I did not try any of these on these goes.

Poke Bowls – There were several options here. One of my girlfriends ordered the classic ahi tuna. It looked amazing and the ingredients were all of a good quality and delicious. However, the amount of rice versus the amount of other ingredients was just too much.

Wraps and Sandwiches – We tried a few different options here. – The Hip Pie was good and vegetarians would enjoy this option. Wrapped in a spinach wrap were hummus, guacamole, pepper jack cheese, spinach, cilantro, and peppers. It was all very fresh and filling.
The Hunger Killer was filled with turkey, avocado, bacon, cheese, onion and spinach. The turkey did not look appetizing to me and my husband did not like this wrap at all. He only ate half of it and was still hungry afterwards, so I let him eat part of my meal.
Chicken Burrito was not what I was expecting, but not was delicious. The chicken was cooked in what tasted like a teriyaki sauce and wrapped up with rice and some other veggies. While not what I expected, it was really good and I would order this again.
