Burdines Waterfront: Restaurant Review

While heading up to Duck Key to visit some friends, my husband and I stopped at Burdine’s Waterfront in Marathon for dinner. Tucked away off of the main highway, this is not an easy find for most. But, it is well worth it if you are looking for good, causal waterfront dining in Marathon.

This little waterfront bar and grill was pretty busy. But, we were still able to be seated right away. Service was quick and while the waiter was very soft spoken he was attentive. I went for one of the specials, a Caesar pita with shrimp. My husband went with a chicken sandwich. And we ordered a basket of fries to share. Okay, fries are my weakness.

While my pita was not what I was expecting, it was really, really good. The pita was laid flat on the plate and topped off with romaine lettuce, croutons, tomatoes and shrimp which was drizzled with a caesar dressing. It was refreshing, light, and yummy. The food was fresh and the mix of flavors melded perfectly together.

The chicken sandwich was delicious and tender. Steven said that it was one of the better chicken sandwiches he has eaten in a while. And the fries were yummy. Salty and crispy.

For less than $40.00, plus tip, two of us had a nice, casual dinner on the water. We would definitely come here for lunch or dinner again the next time we are driving through Marathon. Another cool thing about the location is that it is located at a marina, so you can come here by boat if you want to as well!
