We all want to look our best. And even on vacation some of us don’t want to totally break our fitness routines. Vacationing in Key West makes getting your daily exercise pretty easy.

I go to Stay Fit Studio to get a lot of my exercise in. Being a part of a class helps me to stay focused (I get distracted easily).  Plus I love the instructors, especially Raquel! I love the strength and spin classes, but there are several other classes offered as well such as yoga, pilates, and zumba. Tourists are welcome to pop in, check out the schedule and sign up for classes for just $15 a day.

If you do better on your own, or if you just want to be more relaxed about your exercise routine while on vacation, there are ample physical activities available. Walking, biking, swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding are all great ways to break a sweat in Key West.

Key West is a very bicycle friendly town, being a favorite method of transportation for many residents. Bike paths are found all around the island. You can rent a bike for a day or a week from one of the many bike shops on the island. Some properties even have bikes there specifically for their guests to use.

The gorgeous Caribbean like waters surrounding Key West are a big draw to the island.  And you can enjoy this beauty while getting your exercise on by kayaking or paddle boarding. You can rent kayaks and paddle board from Lazy Dog and traverse the waters on your own. Or, you can take one of their tours. They even offer a yoga class on paddle boards!

Walking around the island is another way to get active. And it is much easier to check things out by foot than by car. You can walk all along Duval Street and the rest of the downtown area while taking breaks for shopping or checking out some of the many art galleries and museums. Or, you can walk along the sidewalks overlooking the ocean all along Roosevelt Blvd. What a great view!

Visitors can enjoy a fun activity filled day at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. Bike on over and ride the bike path.  Or you can get close to nature on the hiking trail. Then you can cool off in the gin clear ocean by going for a swim followed by relaxing on the beach after your day long exertions.

And if you are here while the island is hosting one of the many marathons held here each year, you can probably sign up for that and really experience Key West fitness!
