I have had dinner at the Ocean Grill several times, but a few of us decided to try out their brunch a couple of days ago. Served daily from 9am until 3:30pm, they have a pretty extensive menu, including bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary’s for under $8. Suffice it to say, we had a difficult time trying to decide what to order.
My husband ordered the burger. It is a half pound angus of beef with roasted garlic mayo and fries. The burger was tasty, and cooked as ordered.
Tommy ordered the French toast. There were several huge slices of soft and delicious brioche bread dipped in vanilla and cinnamon eggs, rolled in frosted flakes, and served with powdered sugar and syrup. Talk about decadent! He said that this was absolutely amazing. And he did not even finish it as there was just so much of it.
I ordered the grown-up grilled cheese. With aged cheddar and maple bacon jam on sourdough bread, it was both delicious and original. As a bonus, it came with a cup of cream of tomato soup which was very tasty and came in handy for dipping my sandwich into.
We were all very happy with our meals, but there are so many more things to try like omelets, pancakes, waffles, Benedicts, salads and more! I think that means we will be back again soon to sample some fo these other delights.
Ocean Grill, located at 1075 Duval Street in Duval Square has free parking and wi-fi as well! And you can either sit inside in the air conditioned dining room or outside on a covered patio where you can people watch.
