The Breakfast Club, Too – Restaurant Review

BC Veggie Rostis

Breakfast is called the most important meal of the day. And it is certainly my favorite meal to have out at a restaurant, so I am constantly on the hunt for new, great places to have breakfast in Key West. Well, I just discovered The Breakfast Club, Too, and it was awesome! It may just be my new favorite breakfast spot.

Located at 610 Greene Street, it is opened daily from 7:30am until 2pm. You can sit inside in the air condoned dining room, or outside on the patio and people watch. We opted for outside, but on a hot summer day, it is nice to have another option.

Making a choice was pretty difficult. They have fluffy omelets, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, waffles, Benedicts, smoothie bowls, burgers, salads, rostis, and other specialties. The French toast fondue sounded like heaven, but was also likely to put me into a food coma, and I had to go to work. Their savory shrimp and grits sounded yummy, but I was not in the mood for that. Biscuits and gravy is always delicious, and the monster burrito did indeed look monstrous as I watched it being brought out to another table, but again I thought about the food coma I would probably be putting myself in before work.

In the end, I went for simplicity with a cup of tea, scrambled eggs, bacon, and home fries. The eggs were fluffy and flavorful. The bacon crisp, and the potatoes roasted perfectly. While a breakfast like this can seem boring, it was so tasty. And if they can do a simple breakfast right, that says a lot about a place in my opinion.

My friend Pam went for a cup of coffee and a rostis. These are a bed of seasoned home fries and topped with any number of items served on a cast iron skillet. She opted for the veggie: two eggs, spinach, tomato, mushrooms, peppers, onion, and melted cheddar cheese. Not only did this look amazing, but it also tasted amazing.

I am going to have to bring my hubby here so that he can enjoy this experience too. And next time, I might just indulge in one of their eleven specialty Bloody Marys or mimosas.
