Ernest Hemingway, a.k.a. Papa, was famous for many things, and drinking was one of them. Legend has it that Hemingway used to drink these to excess during his time in Havana, Cuba. This recipe was taken from Papa Hemingway by A. E. Hotcher. Apparently this is the recipe used by the Floridita in Cuba.
- 3 oz white rum
- juice of 2 limes
- juice of 1/2 grapefruit
- 6 drops of maraschino liqueur
Fill a blender 1/4 full with shaved ice. Add all ingredients. Blend until mixed well and serve in a daiquiri glass.
Mix all ingredients together in a shaker with ice and pour over ice into a cocktail glass.
