This is the 33rd year that Key West has celebrated Fantasy Fest, our version of Mardi Gras, and it starts this week! You can read all about the festival’s history and reveler rules on my blog page about this event.
If you plan on coming down for the celebrations and don’t have hotel reservations yet, good luck to you trying to find them this late in the game. Many people book their rooms a year in advance. If you already have reservations, good planning on your end!
There are more than fifty events during this week long celebration including street fairs, costume competitions, and a parade. Some of the more popular events like Sloppy Joe’s Toga Party and the Pet Masquerade and Parade are not to be missed! Check out the schedule of events for this years Fantasy Fest to plan your days and nights. And if you are looking to do anything not necessarily festival related, please visit our Key West website for other island activity ideas such as parasailing, fishing, and snorkeling charters. One of the most popular thing for visitors to do during Fantasy Fest are our clothing optional private charters which can be customized for anywhere from 2 to 6 people. Its a great day to relax on the water and get a tan with no tan lines so that your costume looks even more amazing!
