Key West Fishing Tournament

This year, Dream Catcher Charters is sponsoring the Key West Fishing Tournament, which is an 8 month long competition running from March through November. The tournament, now in its 47th year, is open to anyone, resident or visitor, and all anglers are encouraged to enter their catches. All entries qualify for a prize, and all will actually receive a certificate noting their catch.

There are several divisions including spin, plug, fly, junior, and peewee. Its easy to enter. If you are fishing with Dream Catcher Charters, your guide will fill out het paper work and submit it for you. If you are fishing on your own, you will need a witness to vouch that you released a fish, or you can weigh it at one of the official tournament weigh stations, fill out the form and have it signed by an official weigh master. Species that are only recognized via release are sailfish, marlin, spearfish, tarpon, and sharks; these fish was be returned to the waters alive and well to protect the fisheries.

For more information on this tournament you can go to www.keywestfishingtournament.com or you can call Dream Catcher Charters at 888-362-3474 and book a charter.
