Key West Artisan Market

4/5/21

If you are in Key West on select Sundays, you should check out the Key West Artisan Market. Currently, this open air bazaar is being held every other Sunday from 10 am until 2 pm at Higgs Beach, in the parking lot at the Key West Wildlife Center. Here you will find a plethora of local artisans peddling their goods. These include food, textiles, jewelry, arts of all kinds, fresh produce, and more. There is even entertainment!

Each market day has a different theme. Some of the more recent themes include:

  • National Pet Day, benefitting the local SPCA
  • Let’s Get Hoppy, for Easter featuring the Southernmost Brew Club
  • Upcycle / Recycle
  • Ocean Awareness featuring MOTE Marine
  • One Human Family

My husband and I went a few Sundays ago with our little Maltese. It was mild weather so we were very comfortable outside as we walked around and looked at the local artisans’ goods. And there were lots of other dogs around for our little guy to sniff.

There were several food choices to pick from if hungry, like sushi, BBQ, and more. We had already eaten, but we did snack on some chips and guacamole that was made right in front of us. It was delicious!

We also ended up buying some veggies from the farmer’s market stand as well as a couple of orchids. Hopefully I won’t kill them!

Visit the market if you can and support our local Keys community. Plus, you can go home with a cool souvenir or just enjoy some delicious food and drink and the great Key West atmosphere.

There are so many places to eat on this island, so before you decide where to go, be sure to read my Key West restaurant reviews; check out our restaurant review section of this blog.
