Things slow down a bit in Key West in the fall, which is what us locals refer to as the off-season. There are less visitors coming to the island during this time due to a combination of factors. And, with this slower time for tourism on the island, it is a good time for some of the locals to take a break. So, several local businesses, mainly restaurants, will close for anywhere from a week to month.
With that said, don’t be afraid to come down to Key West during this time. The hotel rates are much more affordable. And, a majority of places remain open, so there won’t be a shortage of things to do or places to eat. Actually, many people enjoy the island more this time of year with the smaller crowds.
Here is a list of restaurant closures for 2024.
Bistro 245 is closed, but we have not been able to get any details about the closure.
Blue Heaven is closed from September 3, 2024 to October 9, 2024. But, good news is that their sister restaurant, Salute! has that amazing Key Lime Pie, and the wild chickens, that Blue Heaven in known for. Plus, a great view of Higgs Beach!
Bruschetta Francesca will be closed for vacation from September 1, 2024 until October 3, 2024.
The Cafe will be closed on Tuesdays for the month of September, 2024.
Cayos Kombucha will be closed for the month of September, 2024. You can still call them for deliveries.
Chico’s Cantina will be closed from August 31, 2024 to September 16, 2024. They will be reopening with reimagined hours.
DJ’s Clam Shack will close be closed from September 2 – 26, 2024.
Eaton Good is closed from July 2024 until October 2024.
Frita’s Cuban Burger Cafe will be closed from September 3, 2024 until the 1st week of October, 2024.
Hog’s Breath Saloon will be closed for renovations from September 2- 8, 2024.
Hogfish Bar & Grill will be closed for maintenance from September 3-4, 2024.
Little Whitehouse Subs is closed from September 4 – 13, 2024.
Lola’s Bistro will be closed from September 1-5, 2024.
Louies Backyard will be closed from September 3 – 18, 2024. The Cafe at Louie’s hopes to reopen by October 1, 2024.
Milagro Restaurant & Bar will be closed from September 1 – 18, 2024.
Red Shoe Island Bistro is closed for repairs from September 9, 2024 to October 10, 2024.
Sarabeth’s is open for brunch daily but will be closed for dinner until October 10, 2024.
