Key West restaurant vacation closures in 2025 typically happen in the later summer and early fall. This is what we locals refer to as the off-season. With school starting back up, hurricane season in full swing, and the heat of the islands, we see less visitors coming to the island during this time. So, this makes it a good time for some of the locals to take a break. Or, it is a great time to close up shop for a short time and preform some much needed cleaning and maintenance on their facilities after a long, busy year. So, where do people who live in Key West go on vacation? Well, that is an entirely different blog post for some future date. But several restaurants will close for anywhere from a week to month during this time. Keep in mid that there will still be many, many places open to eat. And, an added benefit of coming this time of year is that the hotel rates are much more affordable. With the smaller crowds, this can be a favorite time for some people to visit.
Azur – Closed September 1st through mid-October.
Blackfin Bistro – Closed for the month of September.
Blue Heaven – Closed for the month of September, reopening in October, date TBD.
Bruschetta Francesca – Closed for September until the 2nd week of October.
Cafe Sole – Closed for the month of September.
Chico’s Cantina – Closed for their annual Labor Day vacation from August 30th, reopening on September 16th.
Croissants de France – Closed September 8th through the 11th, reopening on the 12th.
DJ’s Clam Shack – Closed from September 1st and reopening on the 19th.
The Docks – Closed September 13th and reopening on October 3rd.
Eaton Good – Closed starting in June and reopening in October.
Frita’s Cuban Burger Cafe – Closed from September 17th until October 1st.
Hard Rock Cafe – Closed from September 1st through the 5th.
Kaya Island Eats – Closed September 2nd through the 6th.
La Grignote – Closed until September 26th.
Little Whitehouse Subs – Closed September 6th – 7th, and September 13th – 14th. No cupcakes available from September 5th to the 14th. 🙁
Louie’s Backyard – Closed September 2nd to the 24th while their Cafe will close on August 31st and reopen on October 1st. They are keeping limited office hours, so if you are looking to make reservations for late September and October call 305-294-1061or email lbackyard@aol.com with your name, phone number, date and time you are looking for.
Old Town Mexican Cafe – Closed September 2nd – 18th and reopening on the 19th.
Smoked BBQ – Closed September 1st – 29th.
Square Grouper Key West – Closed September 2nd and reopening October 3rd.
